About Me (and the Title)

No, I’m not from Australia.  In fact, I've never even been to Australia.  I'm a born-and-bred New Yorker who still lives in Manhattan.  I took this blog's title from one of my favorite picture books, the incomparable Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst.   I'm a library school drop-out and recently left my legal job and am now considering returning to library school.  I have two daughters, ages 5.5 6 7 12 and 3 3.5 4.5 9.5.  I’ve had had so much fun discovering new children's books and rediscovering old favorites with them that I wanted to share my finds.  Hopefully you'll reciprocate; I can't wait to add more favorites to my list.  You can contact me at eveninaustraliakidlit@yahoo.com.
